We will be posting card translations to come. General disclaimer- This is merely an unofficial rough translation of the quick manual for Level Neo. Level Neo belongs to Movic and Ensky.

Level Neo

Victory Condition:

  • Attack with your Main Chara that has become Level Neo against your opponent’s Main Chara and win.

  • Your opponent’s deck zone has less than 1 card.

Card Types:

Character Cards/Event Cards

  • Color - The color of the card. There are 4 different colors: red, blue, yellow, green.

  • Cost - The cost to play the card. Cost is split into the following:

  • Turn Cost (The number under cost)- The turn progress required to play a card.

  • Color Cost (The spheres left of the number below cost) - If a card has a color cost, it means you need a Chara on the field with the required color before being able to play the card.

  • Name – Yup You guessed it :).

  • Text - Effect text of card.

  • Level Burst Text (If a card has it, it’ll be listed below the effect text and say “Level Burst”) – Only concerns you when you “Level Burst”.

  • Trait (Character: slightly right of Cost, below name of card; Event: Right of name) – Trait of the card. Cards may not necessarily have traits.

  • Attack Point(AP) (Right of name) – For character cards only. The power of your character.

Level

  • Level Value – The amount of cards in your level area +1(for your Main Chara) is the level of your Main Chara.

  • Level Up – Place the top card of your deck face down into the Level Area. You can only look at cards in your Level Area that have been used for “Level Burst”.

  • Level Down – The owner of the Main Chara picks any 1 card (face-up or face-down) from their Level Area and places it into Discard Area.

  • Level AP Bonus – During your turn, your Main Chara gains AP equal to 500xLevel

  • Level Neo – When a Main Chara reaches level 5, it awakens as “Level Neo”

  • When declaring Main Attack, you cannot Combine Attack.

  • If you declared a Main Attack, the defender cannot declare Cover.

  • If your Chara wins the battle when declaring a Main Attack, you win.

Play Area

  • Deck Area (Top right of playmat) – Where you place your deck.

  • Discard Area (Bottom right of playmat) – Where discarded cards go.

  • Level Area (Sideways zone in the center of mat) -

  • Main Area (Directly above level area) – Where you place your main Chara.

  • Support Area (The 4 remaining card zones around Level and Main Area) – Where you place your Support Chara. You can only have up to 4 Support Chara.

  • Turn Marker (Left of mat) – To track turn progress of game.

Deck Preparation:

  • Deck consists of 40 cards exactly.

  • You can only have up to 3 copies of the same card in a deck.

  • Deck must contain at least 1 [Turn Cost 1] Character Card.

Game Preparation:

  • Something to keep track of turn progress be it Turn Marker(Provided in Starter decks), dice, or the use of the Turn Marker on playmat.

  • Decide which player goes first through Rock-Paper-Scissors.

  • Select 1 Turn Cost 1 Character card from your deck and place it face down in the Main Area.

  • Shuffle the deck and place it in the Deck Area.

  • Draw 6 cards for your starting hand.

  • If you do not like your hand, you can mulligan once. To do so, select any amount of cards from your hand and place it at the bottom of your deck in any order. Afterwards, draw the same amount of cards from the top of you deck.

  • Starting player decides whether or not to mulligan first.

  • Place your Turn Marker (Or whatever you’re using to keep track) at 0.

  • Once both players can completed the previously stated preparations, both players flip face-up their Main Chara to begin the game.

Turn Flow:

  • Start of Turn

  • Turn player increases Turn Marker by 1.

  • Draw 1.

  • Place all your Chara (Main Chara, Support Chara) into Active State (Upright; untapped).

  • 1st Main Phase – Turn player may do the following:

  • Play up to 1 Support Chara.

  • Use Event Card(s).

  • Battle Phase – The Battle Phase proceeds as follows. (Will be further explained later on)

Use of “Level Burst”

Judgment of Win/Loss

  • 2nd Main Phase – Starting Player’s first turn does not have a 2nd Main Phase. Turn player may do the following:

  • Play up to 1 Support Chara.

  • Use Event Card(s).

  • End of turn

  • Resolve effects that happen at the end of turn.

  • If hand has 7 or more cards, discard down to 6.

  • Card effects that last until end of turn ends.

  • Once everything has been resolved, proceed to opponent’s turn.

Character Appearance

  • Turn player may play up to 1 Character during their 1st Main Phase and once again during their 2nd Main Phase. This is called “Appearance”.

  • Your field can only have up to 4 Support Chara.

  • You can have multiple Chara with the same name on the field (Main Chara included).

  • If there is already 4 Support chara on your field, you can select 1 of your Support Chara on the field into the Discard Area to play a new Support Chara.

  • Turn Cost – To play a Character, your Turn Marker must be equal or greater than the Turn Cost of the Character you want to play.

  • Color Cost – To play a Character, you must have characters (Main and Support Chara) on the field with the corresponding colors equal to the Color Cost required of the Character you want to play.

  • Chara without Color cost can disregard this and be played.

  • Main Chara

  • Levels up upon winning a Battle through attacking.

  • Levels down upon losing a Battle when getting attacked.

  • Cannot Cover.

  • During your turn, gains AP equal to Level x500.

  • Upon reaching level 5, becomes “Level Neo” and if attacks and wins the Battle, attacking player wins the game.

  • Can declare attacks against opponent’s Main Chara.

  • When participating in Battle, can perform “Level Burst”.

  • Support Chara

  • Can be played during both Main Phase. Leaves the field upon losing a Battle.

  • Cannot Level up.

  • Is able to Cover.

  • Can declare attack on opponent’s “Rested”(Tapped) Main Chara or Support Chara.

  • Character Text - There are 2 types: “Auto” and “Use”.

  • Auto – These effects will automatically be used.

  • [Normal](Yellow symbol) – Continuously activated as long as it is on the field.

  • [Activate](Blue Symbol) – Will activate when played and certain conditions are met.

  • <LV _> – Can be used when your Main Chara’s level is equal to or greater than the amount stated.

  • Use – These effects can be chosen to be used by players.

  • Can only be used during the timing stated.

  • Can only be used when your main Chara’s Level is above the stated value.

  • Each Chara’s effect can only be used once per turn. (For example, you cannot play 2 copies of a card on the field to use the same effect twice.

Event Cards

  • Can be used by both players.

  • Can only be used during the stated timing.

  • Must meet Turn Cost and Color Cost (Like Characters).

  • Event cards with the same name can only be used once per turn.

  • Event cards used will go to discard pile.

Battle Phase

Battle occurs when a Chara declares attack. During the Battle Phase, turn player may Attack as many times as possible. However, the same Chara can only declare attack once.

A Battle proceeds like so:

  • Playing of Event/Use of Effects

  • Attack Declaration

  • Playing of Event/Use of Effects

  • Cover Declaration – the player being attacked may use a Support Chara to block the attack.

  • Playing of Event/Use of Effects

  • Use of “Level Burst” – may only happen in Battles with Main Chara.

  • Judgment of Win/Loss -Comparison of AP between Chara in battle. The one with higher AP wins. If there is a tie of AP, both Chara loses.

Attack Declaration

  • Select an attacking Chara by resting it(Tap). This is known as “the participation of Attacking Chara”. If no attacks are to occur, Battle Phase ends, and Turn player will proceed to the next Phase.Main Attack – An attack made by your Main Chara

  • Can only select opponent’s Main Chara as attack target.

  • Can select opponent’s Main Chara as attack target regardless of whether opponent’s Main chara is Active or Rested.

Support Attack – An attack made by your Support Chara

  • Can attack opponent’s Main Chara or Support Chara.

  • Attack target must be in rested state (Tapped).

Combi Attack – When performing a Main Attack or Support Attack, you may use 1 additional Support Chara to simultaneously attack. When Combi Attacking, rest 2 of your Chara you wish to Combi Attack with. When a Combi Attack is declared, when deciding the Win/Loss of a Battle, the total AP of both Chara are used.

  • Combi Attack with Main Chara & Support Chara

  • Can only target opponent’s Main Chara (Rested or Active).

  • Combi Attack with Support Chara & Support Chara

  • Can only target opponents Rested Chara (Main or Support).

Cover

Player getting attacked may declare to use Cover. When using Cover, the selected Support Chara takes place of the Chara being targeted for attack.

  • Only Chara that are in Active (Untapped) state can declare Cover.

  • Cover uses only 1 Chara.

  • Chara that declared Cover becomes Rested (Tapped).

  • Cannot be used when a “Level Neo” Main Chara attacks.

Level Burst

  • When a Main Chara is participating in a Battle, that Main Chara may perform “Level Burst”

  • This can be performed by both the Attacking Player and Defending Player.

  • Attacking Player must choose whether or not to “Level Burst” first.

  • Within 1 Battle, if a Main Chara fails to Level Burst, during that Battle, that Main Chara may not perform another Level Burst.

  • To perform a Level Burst:

Select 1 card from the Level Area of the Main Chara performing Level Burst and flip it face up.

If the card flipped has “Level Burst” Text on it, Level Burst is successful. Otherwise, Level Burst has failed.

If Level Burst is successful, apply the effects listed on the “Level Burst” Text.

Opponent may decide whether or not to use Level Burst.

If Attacking player chooses not to Level Burst, the Defending Player may choose whether or not to Level Burst.

Players will take turns using Level Burst (Starting with turn player) and once both players have chosen to not Level Burst, proceed to judgment of Win/Loss.

  • Using Level Burst does not decrease level.

  • Cards used for Level Burst remains face-up in Level Area.

  • Level Burst effects is only active during the Battle the Level Burst card was revealed in. It cannot be used a second time if another Battle occurs.

Judgment of Win/Loss

At this step of Battle, the AP of the Attacking Chara and Defending Chara are compared. The side with the higher AP wins and the side with lower AP loses. If a tie occurs, both sides lose.

  • Attacking Player’s Main Chara wins – Winning Main Chara gains 1 Level.

  • Attacking Player’s “Level Neo” Main Chara wins – Attacking player wins the game.

  • Attacking Player’s Main Chara loses – Nothing happens to the Main Chara that declared the attack.

  • Defending Player’s Main Chara loses – Losing Main Chara loses 1 Level.

  • Support Chara loses (Regardless of Attacking/Defending Player)- Losing Support Chara is placed into Discard Area.

  • Chara performing Combi Attack loses – If both characters are Support Chara, select 1 of them and place into Discard Area. If Combi Attack was performed by a Support Chara and a Main Chara, Main Chara does not lose 1 Level and Support Chara remains on the field.
